Jump Rope
First quarter, we were doing jump rope. With a partner we had to make up a routine made up of at least eight tricks. We could choose as many jumps we wanted to include. Our routine was mad up of eight consecutive tricks with two jumps between each trick. The first trick was called side winder, where you had to side wind the jump rope on each side then jump. Then, we had side to side, which we had to jump side to side. Next, was front to back, where you had to jump to the front, then to the back. The next step, was side straddles where you had to just spread you legs apart in each jump and then close them. After that, the next step was heel to heel, where you had to jump putting one of your heels out at a time. After that, we had jogging step where you just basically jog. Second to last, we had backwards 180, where you would turn half way around bring the rope around the side and then jump. Lastly, we had backwards cross, where you have to cross the jump rope backwards and then jump through it.
This activity brought me back to when I was in first grade. When I would always play jump rope, even if I just knew how to jump and didn't know any tricks. After this activity, I learned more than 10 tricks, way more then when I was in first grade.

Badminton
We were currently playing badminton for P.E. We learned how to serve, how to hit the birdie, and the rules, and of course how to play. To serve, you can either serve underhand or over hand, which ever way you serve it, you have to serve behind a certain line, or the other team gets another point. Before you serve, you also have to say the score, because sometimes judges or people get confused by the score and that could get the losing team saying that they won even though they didn't, if you don't say the score, the opponing team also gets a point. The teams can keep going as long as they want, but when the birdie touches the ground the opposite team gets a point. The game ends when a team gets to a certain amount of points. There could be two ways that you play, either singles or doubles. Singles is when you play with two people, one on each side. Doubles is contrary to that, you have four people and two are on each side.
This reminds me of last year, when I used to go to my older sisters badminton games. She used to play badminton and sometimes we would go to her games. I would always have fun at her games and sometimes I would take my cousins with me, which made it even more fun.

Martial Arts

Now, we are learning about martial arts and some moves, and blocks. There are very many blocks but we are only learning four. Right now, we are just learning the basic punches, kicks, and stances. Once we learn what they are, we will start using the kicking and punching pads. Shotokan and Karate are both forms of martial arts, which we are both learning. We are learning the moves and counters for each move. Each move has a certain thing that it does, like blocking someone or the counter of something in order for them not to get you. The picture on the left shows what the beginning stance is. From there you move, and no matter what you do, you always end up in that stance again. Wether it's from changing to a different foot, you're always going to have your left foot forward and bended at the knee, with your straight right leg. Sure there will be other things that you will have to get you out of that stance but you will always go back to that stance and make your move.
